What this site is, and how it decides what to say.

Every claim that carries weight is tied to a named body of evidence, and the sources are listed and linked at the foot of the article that uses them. Most of them are the same handful of places: the National Eye Institute, the published AREDS and AREDS2 reports, Cochrane reviews, and primary papers on PubMed.

Where the evidence is thin, the article says so rather than filling the gap with confident phrasing. Where a question has no good answer yet, that is the answer we give. A page here is more likely to tell you a product is irrelevant to you than to tell you which one to buy.

Product comparisons are built from what manufacturers publish on their own labels, read at a stated date. We do not test anything in a laboratory and we never imply that we have. Labels change without notice, so every comparison is a snapshot with its date on it.

No article claims that anything cures, treats, prevents, diagnoses, reverses, or restores any condition, because nothing on this site does those things. Vision that has been lost is not something a supplement recovers, and a page suggesting otherwise is selling you something.

There are no invented experts here, no borrowed credentials, no testimonials, no review counts, and no media logos we did not earn. Where an asset of that kind is missing, it stays missing.

No manufacturer or retailer pays to be included in an article, excluded from one, or described a particular way. There is no sponsored content on this site and no paid placement.

The rule those links follow is written into the code rather than left to judgement. On the AREDS2 label checker, a link can only appear after a product has already been found to match the tested formulation. It never appears on a result that falls short, it never appears on the screens that tell a reader the formula is not relevant to them, and it has no influence on any verdict the tool reports. The check runs identically whether or not you use the link.

Labels and prices in comparison articles go stale faster than anything else. If a panel you are holding does not match one we printed, the bottle in your hand is the one that counts, and we would like to know.

Everything published here is educational. If your vision has changed, or you have any concern about your eyes, arrange an appointment rather than reading another article.

Sudden new floaters, flashes of light, or a shadow moving across your vision are not something to research. They need a dilated examination the same day.
